This Miniature part of two estimated 1720 represent, according to text in Farsi language on the back of this painting, a discussion at the Court of The King Kudhayar Khan Abbasi and His Queen regarding the dances and music for their wedding.
The King Abbasi was not consider of a good King, he was the ruler of Sind and was chased by Nadir Shah Afshar before 1740, this is why we do estimate the time of the painting circa 1720. This paintings ordered only by the rich and famous are of the Tabriz School and took around a year to be achieved.
These two paintings belonged to Aga Khan’s wife who received same as a Royal gift. She died in Angers France circa 1980 and her niece inherit of same. Around 1990 her husband needing expensive hospital treatment she decided to sell a lot of her properties and gave same to sell to a reputable antique dealer from St Mathurin Maine & Loire France, my uncle then acquired those two paintings.
